Since opening in March 2020, the Stronghold community is now at its biggest and our functional fitness classes are filling up fast each week. We’ve also been listening closely to member and team feedback over the last two years and we feel that now is the right time to combine all of the exciting ideas and put plans into motion. So! We’re beyond excited to be taking The Stronghold to a second, larger location in Cheltenham this summer.

What you need to know:

We’ve managed to nurture a very welcoming culture and we’re dead set on taking it with us to the new fitness centre. We take a member and movement first approach at The Stronghold and that means we work hard to make our gym space the best possible environment for people to come and improve their quality of life – and have some FUN whilst doing it.

It also means everyone is asked to leave their ego at the door.

We want to help people to be happier, stronger and faster but not at the expense of good form and potentially causing injury.

The New Location:

Unit 5. Malmesbury Road, Cheltenham, GL51 9PL.

We’re also adding a few areas and amenities to the new location to include:

  • Two specific class areas
  • A dedicated open gym space
  • Showers and changing rooms
  • A treatment room with sports therapist
  • An area to chill, enjoy coffee and even work

Opening Date:

(all being well with the refurbishment)

Saturday 9th July – More details to follow!

Memberships:

Join the new gym from £35 a month for open gym or from £75 for small group classes and benefit from top of the range equipment, flexible month to month memberships and on-site parking. For more information on our current membership selection and prices, click here.

So what’s new at Stronghold 2.0?

The new location is more than double the size of where we are currently which means there’s plenty of space to add showers, a coffee and chill area as well as more floor space for new classes. The new class timetable will include the following performance-based sessions:

  • Functional Fitness
  • Stronghold Conditioning (New)
  • Lunchtime Sweat (New)
  • Barbell Club
  • Stronghold Fundamentals (New)
  • Advanced Gymnastics
  • Mobility

What about the current Stronghold Location?

The current Stronghold at Lower Mill Street isn’t going anywhere and will develop into a dedicated Personal Training Hub, where people can benefit from the exclusivity of 1-to-1 training across two floors. Click here to learn more about what’s on offer at the PT Hub.

The Masters (Age 70+), Sports Teams and Youth Sessions will also remain at the PT Hub.
